The snowflakes effect was added a year ago [see 2023.Dec.14 log entry]. This effect is set to run automatically during the holiday season (Nov. 1 ~ Jan. 3). Now you can use a URL override suppress or force the effect during any time of the year:

A holiday update to Project RITOS:

• Happy Holidays ❄️ Enjoy the falling snowflakes ~ This effect will remain active until January 3rd. At the top left corner of the page, you’ll find two faint snowflake controls. Use them to remove the effect or add more snowflakes. Be cautious 👉 adding too many will inevitably slow down the overall animation performance.

• New feature: NSC / Nacelle Sucking Creature In the JWST Images section, a new NSC button has been added to the bottom of the screen. It reveals the nacelle sucking creature — it moves back & forth right on top of the space image😉

Whew… finally made this project stable enough before Star Trek: Lower Decks season 3 finale’s release. What a wonderful season it has been🧡

  Project RITOS • 1-Hour Loop in 4K

USS Cerritos definitely has grown on me for the past three seasons. In recent episodes, ‘Room for Growth’ (s3e04) & ‘Reflections’ (s3e05), at last we got a good glimpse of the ship’s new schematics (MSD) in better resolution. And that gave me a push in making this crazy fan project (or crazy-fan project?)

Initially the plan was simply about recreating a static vector art of the ship’s MSD — master system display. Though one thing led to another, it has involved into what you see right now. Thanks to Mike Okuda’s timeless creation of the great fictional LCARS UI. It’s always attractive & flexible. Therefore, all LCARS projects are lucky to benefit from that inherent design beauty.

This particular LCARS website is more Lower Decks centric. And big thanks to all those fun source materials from Mike McMahan’s Team Lower Decks, I had a blast researching & coding Project RITOS😄 Hopefully I’ve made this technobabble UI intuitive enough for everyone. Enjoy ~

Star Trek: Lower Decks started its season 3 about a month & a half ago. It has been great, and I love every single episode so far! In season 1, I did feel pretty neutral about the USS Cerritos. Though now it has certainly grown on me. So I decided to spend some time recreating its schematics (MSD / Master System Display).
